This is a fun little craft challenge for kids.  We used a small back of pebbles purchased at our local craft store to create interesting little pictures.  Use your imagination and see what you can come up with.

What you'll need:

​

• One small bag of craft rocks or pebbles from your yard.

• Cardstock: Any color

• Crayons, paint or colored pencils, or markers

• White Glue

• Scissors 

• Optional: twigs or flowers

 

 

How to make it:

​

1. Look through your rocks and select those you think have shapes that resemble the shape of an object you want your picture to be about.  If it is a person, for example, you can pick a body shape and a round rock for the head.  

2. Place your rock on the paper and draw in your picture.  Draw in legs and arms, hats, pants, whatever goes with the picture you are making.  

3. Finally, use glue to glue your rock onto the picture.

4. Add details with paint, glue, markers, or crayon.

That’s it- now you have one original picture!
